About this hike
Leaving the exposed heights of Rifugio Nuvolau, this stage descends through flower-filled meadows and undulating terrain with wide views of the Ampezzo Valley. The route passes close to the base of Monte Pelmo, known as the ‘Throne of the Gods’, and winds through a serene forest before reaching Rifugio Città di Fiume. It’s a gentler stage that offers a welcome reprieve from steeper climbs.
