KNOW THE STATE
Cumberland Valley · Susquehanna River · Kittatinny Ridge
On a safe, level pause, look back at the ground you just crossed. Were you choosing individual footholds or letting your attention wander?
ATC distinguishes the smoother southern terrain from the rocky ridges farther north. A mileage number alone cannot tell you how a stretch will feel underfoot.
Check the exact terrain and current game-land requirements. Avoid estimating pace or suitability from distance alone.
