Kakurinji

About this hike

Kakurinji, located on Ryuujuzan in Tokushima, is perched high in the mountains and surrounded by deep cedar forests. Its name means “Crane Forest Temple,” inspired by a legend of cranes protecting a statue of Kannon. The hike is steep—about 6 km and 3–4 hours. We recommend this hike for its mountain views and magical forest setting.
