About this hike

Humantay Lake is a high-altitude glacial lake reached as a side trip from the Soraypampa area on many Salkantay itineraries. It is useful to treat the lake as an optional excursion, not as the next through-stage toward Salkantay Pass: the main Salkantay route continues from the Soraypampa area toward the high pass.
