Stage 8: Silver Pass → Muir Trail Ranch

About this hike

This stage marks the transition from subalpine wilderness into the more remote interior of the Sierra Nevada. After descending from Silver Pass, the trail follows cascading creeks, passes numerous lake outlets, and winds through forests before reaching Muir Trail Ranch—one of the last major resupply points on the trail.
