Lac de Moiry to Gruben

About this hike

The trail climbs from Zinal through forest and alpine meadows to the Forcletta Pass at 2,874 m (9,429 ft). The ascent is long but gradual, with frequent views of the surrounding 4,000-meter peaks. The descent into Gruben is quieter, as the valley has fewer villages and a more remote feel. Gruben itself is small, with limited but welcoming accommodation.
