Maroon Peak, one of the famed Maroon Bells, is both beautiful and dangerous. Its dramatic red slopes rise above Maroon Lake, drawing photographers and climbers alike. The standard South Ridge route involves serious Class 3 climbing on loose, rotten rock. It's often called the “Deadly Bells.”
