Leaving colourful azulejo houses of Porto Covo, the trail flows through protected Southwest Alentejo Natural Park, tracing sandy coves, fossil‑rich cliffs, and wind‑twisted pines. Constant Atlantic rollers, fishermen hauling octopus pots, and skeletal shipwreck ruins accompany patient trekkers steadily toward the broad Mira River estuary at Vila Nova de Milfontes.
